Enrichment Class- Pipeworks
When we say the hard-working women we serve climb mountains to overcome the obstacles they face, it’s usually a figure of speech; however, the ladies of Session 94 quite literally climbed! Thanks to a wonderful partnership with Pipeworks Gym, the ladies of Session 94 conquered bouldering and rock climbing this month!
Coach Carly’s bouldering class was a hit! She taught the students to climb safely, chart a course step by step, and be confident in their skills. The women loved how she created such a supportive and inviting environment, which gave them the courage to go for it. Trust their instincts, and try and try again.
Coach Kinsey showed the ladies the ropes, teaching them to belay and rock climb like a pro! For many, rock climbing for the first time can feel overwhelming, but Kinsey and the women supported each other every step of the way.
The women were overjoyed to belay for one another and support their sisters in reaching the top!
Thank you, Pipeworks, for helping women climb to new heights- Literally! |
Resume Workshop
Earlier this month, volunteers supported the enthusiastic students of Session 94 in creating finished resumes and honing their resume-writing skills. Not only was it a productive and valuable workshop, but it is always special to hear from volunteers and students alike about the value gained from working together.
Sharnell, a recent program graduate, stopped by Women’s Empowerment to RING THE BELL and share her accomplishments with the women of Session 94! From homeless to housed, Sharnell is building a future she is excited about!
There are still volunteer opportunities available in Session 94, and we need your support. YOU can help empower and uplift!
