Position Overview

This position is responsible for providing administrative support to agency directors and managers. The employee will be responsible for processing donations and thank you letters, and supporting the fund development department, and respond to and coordinate tasks for Women’s Empowerment administrative staff members.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for the success of Women’s Empowerment and the work it does and a general knowledge of the challenges unique to homeless women, children, minorities and persons with disabilities.  They will also possess a high attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced office setting. 

Principal Activities and Responsibilities

 

  • Development Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the daily processing of thank you letters, obtaining signatures, and mailing acknowledgements to ensure donors are thanked within two business days of donation receipt or in accordance with donor preference.
  • Add and update donor and volunteer records in the donor database.
  • Conduct donor research and donor gift/giving analysis.
  • Provide donor reports as needed.
  • Provide support for fundraising activities and special events.

 

  • Administrative Responsibilities
  • Perform administrative activities for agency directors and managers through daily support and weekly meetings.  Support includes checking voicemail, organizing files, organizing and anticipating needs for upcoming appointments and meetings.
  • Provides organizational support for board, committees, and staff, including: creating and maintaining calendars, sending reminder emails, document preparation, and others.
  • Perform administrative and clerical activities as needed, including: word processing, correspondence creation, filing, copying/scanning, and mail distribution.
  • Maintain office and program supply inventory, assist with purchasing supplies from preferred vendors with attention to cost savings and order deadlines, and deliver and distribute supplies to appropriate staff members.
  • Other duties as assigned to meet the program and organizational goals. 

Qualifications:

  • Proficient computer skills: Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite / Google Workspace and Canva; strong background in CRM database (like Salesforce) administration, data integrity, and custom reporting.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time Job Developer to join our team, working 22 hours per week. This position plays a vital role in cultivating and maintaining relationships with employers, fostering partnerships, and creating sustainable employment opportunities for our program participants.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Employer Relationship Development:
      • Cultivate and maintain relationships with employers to build community partnerships and generate job opportunities.
      • Identify and develop new employment opportunities to enhance participants’ success.
      • Implement strategic marketing efforts to strengthen and sustain existing employer relationships.
    • Job Retention Services:
      • Provide job retention services to support both employees and employer partners, ensuring long-term success.
    • Labor Market Research:
      • Conduct regular research on the labor market to ensure compatibility between participants’ vocational goals and market demands.
    • Employer Engagement:
      • Organize on-site interviews, presentations, career fairs, and other employment-related events.
      • Facilitate participants’ involvement in community job fairs.
    • Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the on-site Program Director to identify employer pipelines aligned with the needs of students and graduates. 
  • Provide your supervisor with a daily work plan to ensure alignment with program priorities and organizational goals.
  • Participate in a weekly check-in meeting with your supervisor to review progress, address challenges, and plan upcoming tasks.

     Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, Marketing/Communications, or a related field; OR
    • High school diploma with at least three years of experience as a job developer.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Proven experience in creating job opportunities for clients.
    • Knowledge of the local labor market and occupational trends.
    • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Proficiency with computer applications, Salesforce preferred.
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Experience working with diverse populations.
    • Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
  • Frequent standing, walking, and sitting, with occasional bending and stooping.

Position Title: Housing Navigator

Position Overview:

We are looking for a Housing Navigator with excellent people skills who will engage and maintain relationships with the Sacramento housing industry and increase housing opportunities for students and graduates of Women’s Empowerment. To be successful as a Housing Navigator, you should be an excellent mediator, highly knowledgeable about the housing market, social services, and legal restrictions.

Under the direction of the Program Director, this position provides housing coordination services, including the identification, recruitment, and retention of landlords and property managers who will rent to women and families facing tenancy challenges. The Housing Specialist will collaborate with government agencies, housing stakeholders, and community organizations to leverage all funding possible. This position will assist participants in their housing search, meeting housing eligibility requirements, and negotiating the terms of the lease on behalf of the applicants.

We are seeking a compassionate, resourceful individual who has a working knowledge of property management, fair housing law, and the legal responsibilities of renters and is committed to the goals and mission of Women’s Empowerment.

Principal Activities and Responsibilities:

  • Identify, recruit, and retain landlords who rent to applicants with high barriers to housing.

  • Research housing properties and interview property managers to determine housing opportunities.

  • Serve as a housing resource to creatively provide alternative housing or program options as needed.

  • Establish and maintain community partnerships, resources, and relationships with landlords and real estate agencies.

  • Assist clients with referrals and applications for housing vouchers, including landlords willing to utilize government-funded resources.

  • Assist clients in completing landlord and property management housing applications, including helping to secure needed documentation and accompanying participants to housing orientations and interviews.

  • Provide assistance to prospective applicants for housing placement and housing stabilization.

  • Provide budget and money management assistance and case management services.

  • Provide services to create an early resolution to landlord and tenant disputes to protect the interests of tenants and property managers.

  • Create and work collaboratively with Neighborhood Associations, Rental Housing Associations, community service agencies, and property managers.

  • Prepare and maintain daily logs, records, activity documentation, and reports in a timely fashion.

  • Provides all documentation necessary to comply with contractual agreements.

Responsible for self-development

  • Continually learn and enhance technical and interpersonal skills.

  • Attend staff meetings/assigned training seminars and complete required certifications, i.e. CPR, First Aid, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s (BA or BS) in a relevant field with at least 2-3 years of related experience in housing coordination services for homeless individuals, including housing placement experience and the provision of supportive services.

  • A working knowledge of property management, fair housing law, real estate transactions, evictions, credit statements, and legal responsibilities of renters.

  • Ability to establish and maintain personal and professional boundaries while successfully providing supportive services.

  • Ability to facilitate groups.

  • Knowledge of homeless services, addiction, mental health, and domestic violence.

  • Ability to advocate with and for clients to navigate complex systems and make appropriate referrals.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and listening skills.

  • Strong analytical, mediation, and negotiation skills

  • Ability to maintain case records in a clear and concise manner.

  • Proficient in computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, internet applications, and Google Docs

  • Ability to multitask, work independently, and set work priorities

  • Understand and practice “teamwork” as a work habit.

  • Maintain a harmonious working relationship with staff, participants, and housing providers.

  • A genuine love for working with people.
